As has been stated the Perigord Vert region has many attractions that are well worth a visit but if you should wish to cast your net further afield then there are a host of other opportunities available.

Sarlat, Bergerac and Cognac are all within ‘day-trip’ distance as is the unforgettable pilgrimage to the vineyards of Bordeaux. Farther afield, Poiters is host to Futuroscope , an attraction for children and adults alike. For seaside lovers the endless golden beaches of Royan are 2 hours away by car, while La Rochelle is approximately 2 ½ hours by car.

The area provides ample opportunities for nature lovers and photographers alike with a network of footpaths giving access to fauna, flora and views you might otherwise miss.

For the more energetic there are numerous sporting and leisure activities – canoeing is available in most riverside towns and villages as are other water sports on the various local lakes. Cycling and horse riding are other possibilities and golf is a 25 minute drive away.

Whether you are the sporting type or not there are times when you just want to relax and there are few better ways of doing so than sitting outside a bar or café in one of the squares of any of the numerous picturesque towns of the region and simply watching the world go by.
